No visit to Gerberoy would be complete without experiencing the sheer magnificence of Le Jardin des Ifs. This exquisite garden is a horticultural marvel, renowned for its spectacular array of roses and incredibly impressive topiary art, sculpted from ancient yew trees. It’s a place of profound tranquility, where you could easily spend hours simply wandering amidst the fragrant blooms or finding a peaceful spot to sit and absorb the beauty. The garden also features a charming tea room, perfect for a refreshing break, and a highly-regarded restaurant. While we didn’t get to dine there on our initial visit due to its popularity, we wholeheartedly recommend planning ahead to secure a table. The restaurant offers two menu options: a starter/main course or main course/dessert for 28€, or a full three-course meal for 35€. There are typically two lunch sittings, at 12:30 PM and 1:45 PM. It is highly advisable to arrive early or make a reservation, especially during peak tourist season (June-August), to avoid disappointment and ensure you can enjoy this unique dining experience within the enchanting garden setting.

How to Get to Gerberoy from Paris

Visiting Gerberoy from Paris is relatively straightforward, making it an accessible and rewarding day trip. Here are the most common ways to reach this beautiful village:

• By car: The most convenient way to reach Gerberoy is by car. The drive typically takes about one hour from Paris, offering scenic views of the French countryside. This option provides the most flexibility for exploring the village at your own pace and visiting nearby attractions. There is usually parking available just outside the village walls.
• By train and bus: For those preferring public transport, you can take a train from Paris Nord to Beauvais, a journey that lasts approximately 1 hour and 10 minutes. From Beauvais station, you’ll need to walk to the Gare Routière (bus station) and then take the local line 43 bus. This bus route will take you to the “Carrefour” stop, which is about 42 minutes from Beauvais and a short walk to Gerberoy. While a bit more complex than driving, it’s a viable option for a relaxed journey.
